Satish Chandra College, one of the oldest institutions of the eastern zone of Uttar Pradesh, was founded by the members of the L.D. Meston School Society in 1947 after the name of reverend Late Satish Chand Giri who made a stupendous contribution in terms of money and mind with a far vision of long academically rich Ballia, a place which had been deprived of higher education.
The college is provided with reasonably a good infrastructure. It has its own newly developed Pt. Gorakh Nath Upadhyay sport stadium and wide open space. This institution is blessed with highly qualified, well versed and efficient professors who are discharging their responsibility by rendering their valuable service by enlightening and educating the minds of students through different subjects.
The institution dedicated to enlightening young minds enjoys a long, rich and illustrious past. Situated in the holy land at the confluence of rivers Bhagirathi, Tamsa and Saryu, a place graced by pioneers and stalwarts like Nripendra Bali, Maharishi Bhragumuni, the institution is located at the eastern end of Ballia city, at the apex of Bhragu Ashram on National Highway Number Nineteen (19).
